The Legend of Thirusaramcope: In ancient times, Brahmarishi Vishwamitra brought Lord Rama and Lakshmana to these pristine lands to safeguard the holy penance of the Rishis. At the Sage's direction, Lord Rama discharged his sacred arrow (Saram) to defeat the demoness Tataka and protect the sanctity of the region.

The Name and Sanctity: The place where Lord Rama aimed his arrow became known as Thirusaramcope (later known as Derisanamcope).

Raghaveshwaram: Just as Lord Rama established Rameswaram, he consecrated Raghaveshwaram here in his youth. Bathing in the local Pazhayar River and seeking blessings in this holy environment has drawn devotees for generations to wash away burdens and find inner peace.
